✊Did you know that most goals are scored in the last 15 minutes of a game? Why is this? One reason is probably due to differences in endurance between players on the field. Naturally, players with good endurance will be able to stay focused longer than players who lack it.

🥵It’s in the last 15 minutes of a game when players will start to get tired and make mistakes. If you can improve your stamina you’ll have a huge advantage at the end of the game since you will feel fresher for a longer time than your opponents.

👆Above I’ve outlined some general principles which you should follow. Note that you should train your endurance differently depending on which phase of the season that you are in.

👉In short, pre season is when you should train endurance the most. The first half of pre-season should be targeted toward low intensity workouts and the second half should be more focused on soccer specific endurance like high intensity intervals.

⚽In-season will provide endurance training in your regular practice and during competition. Off-season´s main purpose is recovery and should therefore start at low volume and successively increase.
